The Legend HCx Handheld GPS is truly a step forward. Garmin has really upgraded its already famous Cx models. The added ‘H’ stands for high sensitivity and the system stands up to the expectations. Though the basic Garmin maps are still a disappointment, the device has made some serious improvements that will compel any buyer to think twice before going to buy any other model.
Pros
- The device has an extremely strong receiver that performs brilliantly in deep forest or in other challenging situations.
- Start-up time is reasonably quick.
- The web support from Garmin is excellent and upgrades are available regularly.
- The entire system is sturdy, durable and waterproof.
- The battery life is extremely long.
- The memory is expandable with SD card.
- Information on sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset can be useful for the fishermen and hunters.
Cons:
- The screen becomes difficult to read from a distance.
- The manual is not useful.
- System does not include street level maps. For topographic details, the users have to buy maps at a high price.
- The in-built memory is very small.
- The accuracy of the maps is poor.
